A Message From Our Minister

God invites us to share his life and find rest in him.  We want to be a source of encouragement and strength to your spiritual life.  One of the yearnings within the human heart is a deeper relationship with God.   The Psalmist wrote—

As the deer pants for streams of water. so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.  When can I go and meet with him?  Psalm 42:1-2

Our quest to experience God’s presence brings joy and struggle, pain and gain.  We descend together into valleys of shadows and darkness and climb mountains of inexpressible joy in our search to know him.  Our church family has not reached the summit of “Christlikeness” yet, but we have set our sight on what Jesus set before us.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scoring its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.  Hebrews 12:2-3

In our journey to love God and to love people as He has loved us, we are hard pressed at times to not grow weary and lose heart.  To have the attitude and mind of Christ is a lofty goal.  If not for the determination and undying love of God none of us would ever take on the likeness of Christ. Paul reminded the church at Philippi that they were not left alone to conduct their lives in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.

Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. Philippians 2:12-13

God is preparing us for the day when we will meet him face to face and be transformed into his likeness.  If it is God you seek, we invite you to join with us in our quest to be at one with Him and each other. To know God in Christ is to find rest for our souls.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.  Matthew 11:28-30

To come to Jesus is to learn from him and be filled with his fullness.
